Dreaming of pitching your business to Aman Gupta and Namita Thapar? Now is your chance. Shark Tank India Season 6 has opened registrations on Sony LIV, and founders can apply online.
The new season was announced in July 2026, according to Siasat and Variety.
What’s new this season
The show has launched a campaign called #DontBeATota, according to Variety. “Tota” means parrot, and the idea is to take a dig at founders who repeat startup buzzwords without real substance behind them. Another report, by MxM India, describes the campaign line as “Dreaming is Easy, Building is Hard”.
The message is clear: the sharks want founders who have actually built something, not just practised a good pitch.
What we don’t know yet
The list of sharks for Season 6 hasn’t been confirmed, and neither has the premiere date or the last date to register. Season 5 ran from January to March 2026, but there’s no official word yet on when Season 6 will air. Check Sony LIV for the latest updates before you apply.
How to register for Shark Tank India Season 6
Step 1: Open the Sony LIV app or website and go to the Shark Tank India page.
Step 2: Find the Season 6 registration form.
Step 3: Fill in details about yourself, your co-founders, your business, sales, past funding and how much money you want to raise.
Step 4: Keep your pitch deck, product photos, financial details and proof of sales ready.
Step 5: Submit, and keep an eye on your phone and email for a call from the show’s team.
7 things to prepare before you pitch
1. Know your numbers by heart. Monthly sales, profit margins, the cost of getting each customer and how much cash you have. The sharks will ask, and fumbling here can kill a deal.
2. Be ready to defend your valuation. In Season 5, founders rarely got what they asked for. Every Morning Cartel asked for a ₹250 crore valuation and settled near ₹17 crore.
3. Decide your limits in advance. Know the maximum stake you are willing to give away before you walk in.
4. Show how you sell, not just what you sell. As Aman Gupta said during a Season 5 pitch, “Content is king, but distribution is god.”
5. Say exactly what the money is for. Inventory, hiring, marketing or a new factory? Be specific.
6. Get your paperwork in order. Every TV deal is checked afterwards. Clean books make that part easy.
7. Be real. That is the whole point of this year’s campaign.
