Hornbill Festival 2026
The Hornbill Festival is organised every year by the Government of Nagaland, through its Tourism and Art & Culture departments, to showcase the culture of the state’s tribes. Known as the “festival of festivals”, it features traditional dances, music, games, food, crafts and evening concerts.
Dates: 1–10 December 2026 (the festival is held on these dates every year)
Venue: Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, about 12 km from Kohima, Nagaland
Before you go: visitors who are not from Nagaland need an Inner Line Permit (ILP), which can be applied for online. Hotels in Kohima fill up early in December, so book ahead. Check the official website for the 2026 programme and ticket details.
