What is the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy?
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is Pakistan’s premier domestic first-class tournament, played over four days between regional teams. Results here help players and selectors judge form for higher cricket, and young players often use it to build a case for national selection. A match is decided by runs scored and wickets taken over two innings each, and teams earn points for wins, draws and bonus achievements.
How a four-day match works
- Each team bats up to twice, with up to 90 overs in a day depending on the playing conditions.
- First-innings runs can earn bonus points, so even a draw can matter in the table.
- Pitch conditions, weather and the toss often decide how fast a team can score or bowl a side out.
