Paytm UPI Expands Globally: Users Can Now Make Payments at Select International Locations

Paytm, owned by One97 Communications (OCL), has announced that its users can now make UPI payments at select international destinations, including the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal. This move allows Indian travelers to enjoy seamless, cashless payments for shopping, dining, and various local experiences abroad directly through the Paytm app.

A spokesperson for Paytm highlighted the convenience this expansion brings, especially with the holiday season approaching:
“This launch enhances the travel experience for our users, reflecting our commitment to leveraging technology that empowers them wherever they go.”

As a leader in digital payments and financial services, Paytm has been instrumental in pioneering innovations like QR codes, Soundbox technology, and mobile payments. The global expansion of its UPI payment services underscores the platform’s dedication to making transactions more accessible for Indian travelers.

With UPI transactions crossing ₹20 trillion for the third consecutive month in July 2024, this latest feature is poised to further solidify India’s position as a global leader in digital payments.
